Love the show , love this piece. The creation of this piece as with many of my still life’s is something that happens in a very intense period of time. They are temporal things , still life’s. Petals drop , some things perk up , somethings fade. Trying to capture it all before it’s gone sometimes makes for very late nights. ❤️

This piece - Technicolor dreams 2 - 60x40” , is one of the pieces I created after visiting Algonquin park. I was sitting with a friend star gazing while some other friends sat around a campfire.

Playing around with interpretations of winter after I get back up to speed after a case of burn out. Coincidentally I’m teaching a one day workshop @georgianbayarts tomorrow in Owen Sound helping people develop their own winter paintings.
It’s an interesting process, developing a vocabulary of mark making and application of paint to create a distinctive voice in art. Takes lots of time and experimenting and failure. Those who know me , know I’m a firm believer in ‘if you’re not screwing up, you’re not really trying’ !
